The volunteers of Birchwood Kia’s Drive Change Day.

Birchwood Kia on Regent’s Drive Change day was on Sunday August 26, the sun was shining and the wind was from the west at a speed that was strong enough to move tables. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to have a fundraising event for Cancer Care Manitoba.

Once the lot was set up with the bouncy castle, the dunk tank, and the hot dog cart, we were ready to Drive Change. Our stylist station was wonderfully set up with chairs, mirrors, and a comfortable waiting area. People were also lining up outside.

We would like to thank Hair Fx for donating their time for this worthy cause. Their enthusiasm and support was welcomed by all, we couldn’t have asked for a better team.

We would also like to thank our wonderful photographers, Richard Ray and Christine Morin for capturing our event. Photos can be viewed on the Birchwood Kia Facebook page.

A big Thank You to Ross Roteliuk and Dave Klakowich for providing us with some excellent entertainment, you were nothing short of extraordinary.

Last but not least, Shayne Ranking for being a great sport by shaving his head for cancer. His energetic spirit and devotion inspires us all to do good things for our community. The event raised $921.52 and with the donations from Birchwood employees, for Shayne’s new haircut, we managed to raise $2,856.52 for Cancer Care Manitoba. Birchwood Kia on Regent is matching this amount, dollar for dollar, for a grand total of $5,713.04.

The smooth operation of the day, the set up and take down of the lot would not have been possible without the Birchwood Kia East staff. Thank you for your hard work for ensuring the event’s success. Job well done. Congratulations!
